Premier League Soccer Starts Now with a Weekly Crossbar Challenge at Kildare’s!

The start of the Premier League soccer season is finally upon us! After an intense summer of games, including The FA Cup FinalChampions League FinalFIFA Confederations Cup and CONCACAF Gold Cup, we are geared up for the fiercely competitive matches ahead.

To get in the true spirit of the season, we at Kildare’s in West Chester are hosting a weekly Crossbar Challenge. The rules are simple: if a player takes a shot and it goes off the crossbar (the top bar of the goal post, not the vertical posts) during the weekly game of our choosing, then everyone gets a free drink! Have you ever been more excited for missed goals? Join us to watch the game for your chance to win.

The Premier League season will get off to an exciting start, especially after the dust from several trade deals settles. Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho will be one to watch, as it seems Liverpool will hold on to him after rejecting a bid of 100 million euros from Barcelona. Last year, Coutinho scored 14 goals and spent 6 weeks out with an ankle injury. Reigning champs Chelsea will look to retain their title as league favorites, and Manchester City will look to become a powerhouse after making several expensive additions to their team. With big names coming at such high prices, it’s safe to say that the stakes have been raised. This may be the most excited we’ve ever been for a Premier League season!

Kildare’s in West Chester is a destination: an authentic Irish pub that has something for everyone. We’re a place to bring the family for weekend brunch; cheer your favorite soccer (or American football) team; enjoy next-level fare at a business lunch, dinner with friends or special event; spend happy hour (questionable dance moves and all); and, of course, imbibe great beer, whiskey and other adult libations. Join us and find out why we’re not your average Irish pub.
