The most rewarding aspect of running a pub is playing a part in gratifying people. We love becoming friends with our guests and take pride in pleasing everyone who walks through the door. The smiles and laughs we hear every day speak volumes and make us proud to do what we do, but it’s even more powerful when you hear it directly from a regular. Here are the top ways Kildare’s of West Chester is the go-to pub, according to our guests.

1. COMFORTABLE CULTURE

One of the most important aspects of a pub is its culture, and we are happy to hear our guests’ informed feedback. One regular at the pub, Tony Neil, grew up in England, and his family ran a pub for a number of years. He notes how Kildare's is “as close as you come to the English or Irish pub as a place to meet and socialize.”

Another regular (and Tony’s wife), Sharon, said, “We have really gotten to know Brad, Shaun, Phil, Dave and, of course, Dane. You can go to a lot of restaurants and bars to have a meal or drinks. But what makes the difference with Kildare's is you get to know others in the pub, whether they are staff or customers.” She added, “We talk to others about sports, news, travel, music—whatever we share an interest in.”

2. FANTASTIC FOOD

Our elevated pub fare ranges from the Irish classics to the modern favorites. There is something for everyone’s palate, whether adventurous or modest. Sharon says, “We like the soups, Shepherd's Pie, chicken tenders, burgers and loaded fries, but the Buffalo Wings are my go-to favorite.”

3. OUTSTANDING OPPORTUNITIES (FOR FUN!)

At Kildare’s, we also liven it up with music, giveaways and charity auctions. Sharon explains that “Kildare's often participates in fundraising events for various causes. It may be hosting a 5K race, or having a cover charge for open bar and snacks with proceeds supporting a charity.” In one instance, the infamous Heady Topper made an appearance as an item in an auction. Sharon said, “The bartender, Brad, won the auction for that special beer and then shared it with others, including Tony.”

Sharon and Tony seem to be blessed with the luck of the Irish, actually. During a separate event, we held a raffle for a television. The two knew to stick around for another drink, and after a few names were called with no winner present to claim the prize, Tony’s name was called! Sharon said, “Persistence paid off!”

4. DIVINE DRINK

Our drink menu boasts a range of beers from both our backyard in Chester County and across the pond in Europe, as well as an extensive selection of ciderswhiskeys and cocktails. Variety allows our guests to spice it up and go with whatever suits the moment. Like ourselves, Sharon and Tony like to relax with a cold pint. Sharon said, “We generally order traditional beers, but they offer a good selection of craft beers.”

Stop by to pay us a visit and see for yourself. We’re confident we can please you with a beer, lead you to your new favorite whiskey and fill your belly with a hearty meal. You’re sure to make some friends, and maybe you’ll even win a TV while you’re at it!

Kildare’s in West Chester is a destination: an authentic Irish pub that has something for everyone. We’re a place to bring the family for weekend brunch; cheer your favorite soccer (or American football) team; enjoy next-level fare at a business lunch, dinner with friends or special event; spend happy hour (questionable dance moves and all); and, of course, imbibe great beer, whiskey and other adult libations. Join us and find out why we’re not your average Irish pub.
